Chapter Committees
This page lists the committees of the Virginia Chapter. Most are specified as standing committees in Article VII of the Virginia Chapter Bylaws. The remaining were designated as special committees by the Chapter Board, under Section 2 of Article VII.
Please see the “Contacts” page for a list of current board members and the contact form. The chapter always needs volunteers. If you have some time you can give the chapter or are interested in getting involved with the chapter board, please contact us.
- Program: Shall recommend, coordinate, schedule and oversee educational programs presented at the Chapter monthly meeting that expand the knowledge and skills of its members in the interrelated fields of IT assurance, IT security, IT corporate governance, and IT audit and control.
- Seminar: Shall recommend, coordinate, schedule and oversee educational programs and seminars that expand the knowledge and skills of its members in the interrelated fields of IT assurance, IT security, IT corporate governance, and IT audit and control.
- Facilities/Reservations: Shall propose and coordinate facilities arragements for monthly meetings.
- Certifications: Shall promote the Certified Information Systems Auditor™ (CISA), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (CGEIT) designations, and plan and coordinate the chapter’s review courses and exam passer recognition events.
- Technology: Shall maintain and update chapter’s website with current news, job postings, and any informative data that will be beneficial to Chapter members and readers. Helps to implement technical solutions to provide remote access to educational offerings.
- Membership: Shall promote interest in the Chapter and in the Association, conduct an ongoing membership campaign. In addition, prepare and conduct annual member survey. A listing of active Chapter members with current addresses shall also be maintained.
- Nominating: Shall present a slate of officers and Directors to the membership at the regular March meeting. Send each member a ballot containing the complete list of nominees prior to each election. Committee appointed by the President.
- Tidewater Liaison: Shall promote and assist in planning ISACA VA activities in the Tidewater area including meetings, trainings, website updates, etc.
- Western Virginia (Roanoke) Liaison: Shall promote and assist in planning ISACA VA activities in the Western Virginia area including meetings, trainings, website updates, etc.
- Northern Virginia Liaison: Shall promote and assist in planning ISACA VA activities in the Northern Virginia area including meetings, trainings, website updates, etc.
